I don’t know how I got this far in life without having heard of English As She Is Spoke. Suddenly why Little Johnny can’t speak Portuguese and all those hovercrafts full of eels make so much more sense. Vade mecum.

Great! I didn't know about this one. I'll have to get a copy, though sadly it looks as though the reprints are abridgements, which always irritates me.
The edition published by McSweeny's doesn't appear to be abridged.
I was just looking through one of the online, digitized copies on Google Books, and it is funny. For example, an idiotism from page 59:
Few, few the bird make her nest.
Yessir. I found it always smile-inducing, occasionally hysterical reading.
John--amazon calls this the "first newly selected edition in a century". I'm taking 'selected' to mean 'abridged'.
I've requested it from my library.
